TechNet ( participants can ask for help with questions and problems of a technical nature )
If you're interested in becoming a Net Control Operator for our weekly nets or have any questions, contact Archie
It is easy to be a Net Control Operator. Download or view our preamble/script for Net Procedures. You may change some of Net order if you have a better way to make the net interesting and fun. Please, use common sense and conduct the net in a professional manner. Remember, some of the listeners on our net may not be licensed or may not check in and just choose to listen. Let us not scare them off by conducting a net poorly.

Repeaters
The Bolingbrook Amateur Radio Society maintains two of its own repeaters on the 220 and 440 bands. Our Repeater ID's are K9BAR. The Village of Bolingbrook owns and maintains two repeaters for area Amateurs to use, one on 2-meters and the other on the 440 band. The Village of Bolingbrook's Repeater ID's are W9BBK.
BARS is active in community service, and uses its repeater capabilities to provide communications for various events and circumstances. In the event of a severe weather situation, SKYWARN nets are transmitted on the Bolingbrook Village W9BBK 2 Meter Repeater. Instructions for participating in SKYWARN nets are given during the net. In the event of an emergency or disaster, listen to the Bolingbrook W9BBK 2m Repeater for information.
Having the additional 220 and 440 repeaters allows BARS the flexibility to run several different nets simultaneously, depending on the nature of the emergency and the needs of the emergency service entities we are supporting.
