Water Damage at Janes Tower #1

This is the main reason our K9BAR Repeaters were moved from the Janes Ave Water Tower Site. In January 2008 the tower had a valve that failed and caused the base of the tower to fill up with almost 3 feet of water. The water destroyed our newly donated 440.525 repeater which was on a skid on the floor. Shortly after the flood, American Water (the owner of the tower)notified us to remove the rest of our equipment so they could "paint" the tower. They would not reimburse us for the equipment damage or help us with repair. The Village of Bolingbrook came to the rescue and helped us get our Icom 440 Repeater and the new location at the Bolingbrook Hospital.
